Academy Award® winner Standard Deviation has more than 20 years of experience designing custom facial motion capture rigs and motion capture cameras for some of your favorite movies and games, including: Avatar, Planet of the Apes, Lord of the Rings, and many others.

Standard Deviation designed the FaceCam iPhone HMC as a best-in-class, off-the-shelf product: an iPhone HMC for professional users. Sales began in November, 2020, and word of mouth quickly spread: a trickle of initial FaceCam orders turned into a torrent. 

A new company, Radical Variance, was spun off to help keep up with growing demand for the FaceCam. A new website, Face.camera, was created to automate sales and fulfilment of orders for the FaceCam.

Face.camera has made life easier and more efficient for our customers and us. We remain as committed as ever to providing the best possible service to our customers.

Our FaceCam users appreciate the ease and comfort it brings to creating exceptionally stable, professional-quality facial motion capture animation, via any iPhone® model: X through 14.
